As a direct descendent of this early pioneer, Jennifer Atkisson Lovett has always felt like she was following in some pretty big footsteps. When she makes her way through town and comes across the traffic roundabout dubbed Haney Circle, a sense of pride fills her. The circle, named in honor of her great aunt Cynthia Haney, has always given Jennifer something to strive for.

It's All Relative
“I find it very inspiring that one woman was able to accomplish so much,” says Jennifer. Her great Aunt Cynthia not only worked to better the community, but was also active in women’s rights and was one of the charter members of Stuart’s Women’s Club. Her individual efforts were key to establishing organizations that to this day are still important parts of the Stuart community.

A Pillar of the Community
As a member of the Junior League of Martin County, Jennifer continues the tradition of caring set forth by her great aunt. By participating in projects like a career seminar for teenage girls and helping to organize the building of a Discovery Pavilion for marine life education, Jennifer is able to do her part in contributing to the community she loves and was raised in.
